Soffits are a basically a covering on the underside of the overhanging section of a roof eave. Soffits can be made from many different materials including steel, cement, wood and uPVC. The soffit boards will be the most visible part of the roof from ground level close to the house.
County Roofing recommend uPVC for fascias and soffits because of the lower cost, longer lifespan and general better performance. Unlike wood uPVC won’t need repainting. Of course wood has an aesthetic advantage and if this is important to you we completely understand and can install perfectly good wooden soffits.
We also recommend putting air vents in the soffits to prevent moisture from damaging the roof timbers and to prevent mold from taking hold in the roof.
